  1. World Tuberculosis Day is observed on 24 March every year to raise awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB), to create awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of the tuberculosis and the efforts to end the global TB Epidemic. The theme for 2023 World Tuberculosis Day is “Yes! We can end TB!”  
  2. On 24 March every year, the International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims is commemorated in honor of Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero, who was assassinated on 24 March, 1980. 
  3. Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI) has signed a licensing agreement for the transfer of technology (LAToT) with DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat (RCI) laboratory.
  4. Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, inaugurated Asia’s largest 4-metre International Liquid Mirror Telescope at Devasthal, Uttarakhand, in the presence of Lt. Gen (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh, the Governor of Uttarakhand.

  6. The 2023 Swiss Open badminton tournament started in Basel, Switzerland on 21 March, 2023.
  7. According to a report by Kroll, a corporate investigation firm, actor Ranveer Singh has been named India’s most valuable celebrity of 2022, surpassing cricketer Virat Kohli who held the top spot for five years.
  8. CEAT, the tyre manufacturer, has named Arnab Banerjee as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the resignation of Anant Goenka. Arnab Banerjee’s tenure of two years as MD and CEO will commence from 1 April, 2023.
  9. Aasif Sheikh, a wicketkeeper from Nepal, has been awarded the 2022 Christopher Martin-Jenkins Spirit of Cricket Award for his act of sportsmanship during a T20 international match.
  10. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on 21 March, 2023 met US Secretary of Air Force Frank Kendall in New Delhi.
  11. The junior Indian archers won 10 medals in the Asia Cup Stage 1 World Ranking Tournament in Taoyuan.
  12. The second edition of the Africa-India Field Training Exercise (AFINDEX-2023) between India and 23 nations of the African continent commenced at Foreign Training Node, Aundh, Pune on 21 March, 2023.
  13. India is aiming to become a leader in the global shipbuilding industry by launching the Green Tug Transition Programme (GTTP) and setting a goal of becoming a ‘Global Hub for Green Ship’ building by 2030.  
  14. On 22 March, 2023 the Income Tax Department launched a mobile application called ‘AIS for Taxpayer’ that enables taxpayers to view their tax-related information in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) or Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS).
  15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area Office and Innovation Centre at a programme in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 22 March, 2023.
  16. ‘Statue of Knowledge’, a 70-feet tall statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, will be unveiled in Latur city of Maharashtra on 13 April, 2023.
